Mothers Day 2015

Okay I know I have around two thousand past posts to catch up on but I have to throw a little present day in here while I try to catch up... which could take me another 2.5 years.
Mothers Day was wonderful. I was with family, I got all kinds of goodies, but most of all I am blessed to have this little girl call me Mama every day... atleast 245 times a day to be exact.

Sunday started off with breakfast in bed made by Brandon and Kennedy. Although I was awake and waiting patiently in bed for my "surprise special for you" as Kennedy would say. I didn't mind at all waiting there while B did all the work and managed to not destroy the entire house while cooking and watching the toddler.
And then in walks Kennedy holding my yellow plastic plate with an omlet made "special for me". She was so excited and so proud. She crawled up in my bed and we ate my Mothers Day breakfast together... in bed...while watching cartoons.

Later that day we had my family over for Mothers Day lunch, I hosted to give my Mom a break from always hosting everything! We had too much food, lots of laughs, presents, a sticky dirty sweet toddler, and a yummy strawberry pie. My sister Lindsey, "Aunt Winsey" came in town and Aunt Pipie was there too. Since we have had the most rain I have ever seen in my entire life recently the grass and play area outside was swampy but we still ate outside.. really so I didn't have to clean the dining room.
This is Kennedy helping her Yaya open a present.

We took Lele, Brandons mom, out to Chuys on Saturday night for Mothers Day. I love love love mexican, like I can't get enough. I think I crave chips and salsa all day everyday. Its ridicuous. So chuys was my pick of course. We invited Uncle Dustin, brandons brother, and Aunt Sarah. After dinner we came back to our house and played Farkle. If you've ever played farkle you know its a game of PURE luck. Which drives me crazy. The competitive Lacey comes out and does everything to win to only loose in the end to someone who go lucky. Ugh. But I promise it was fun!

And just because I take too many pictures... heres the girl that made me a Mama. And its the best thing I'll ever be. The most important job I'll ever have. She's our light, our happy, our life.

I thought I would throw in some Mothers Day from 2014 as well since I was on a blogging hiatus at that time. We had lunch at my Moms home last year. It was beautiful as usual!

This is some of my crazy family on Mothers Day last 2014. We all had kale in our teeth. I promise we brush our teeth. most days. ( :

And year and a half old baby Kennedy. Oh how I love her stage now but miss her baby days.

Mothers Day 2014

I hope each of you had a blessed Mothers Day. May you know how important you are to someone and how much you are loved. I know my Mother is my rock and I pray that I am that to Kennedy.

Meet Kennedy

Well I think its time to start up this ole bloggity blog. I follow so many fashion blogs, mom blogs, food blogs, and just everyday life blogs. Its always gets me wanting to get on this blog again.
My last post was 3 years ago tho! And I don't even know where to begin.
So I think I will start with the biggest best thing in my life...

Meet Kennedy..... our spunky, wild, funny, ornery, beautiful, sweet, loving, 2 and a half year old Kennedy Marie.

Borm September 9th, 2012 at 11:09 am on a sunday. She was a whooping 6 lb. 15 oz. and 19 inches long. She had a full head of black hair. I instantly fell in love. She wasn't crying, just looking around at everyone. She was so curious. Those big eyes of hers were wide open looking closely at each grandparent. She was able to stay with Brandon and I and not go to the nursery, which was so amazing. I didn't have to say bye to her. We spent a few days in the hospital because she had a hint of jaundice. I will blog next about our whole hospital experience and going home...

Her newborn pictures... 6 days old and slept the entire time.
Annnnd the most gorgeous toddler award goes to.....
This little gal keeps us laughing all the time. The things she does and says sometimes I really don't know where she came up with it. However, she is a little bit of everyone in the family. Although she looks just like her Dada, she is a mini Lacey 100%... probably a little sweeter.

So just a little about her... She is always dancing or singing. In the car, at the dinner table, outside, in her playroom, everywhere and anywhere. I love her little happy spirit.
She is a creature of habbit. Once she eats and likes something she'll want it everyday every meal. She likes the same songs over and over. The same books over and over. The same toys played with for weeks. So what we do as her parents... bring out new things and get super excited about them. She loves her family so so so much. She has the most amazing aunts, grandparents, and cousins. She loves everything girlie and pricesses, goes to the store in tutus and cowgirl boots. She likes her hair fixed everyday.. don't ever leave it in her face or else. She loves the water.. any kind. Bath, pool, puddle, beach, lake. But I think that goes hand in hand with her love for being outside. Whew, this kid would be outside all day. And some days we are.
And no not everything is sunshine and butterflies. Some days I want to pull my hair out. She can be so stinkin ornery. And those moments are when I call my own mother and tell her sorry 20 times because that is exactly how I was at her age. However after her crying fits.. she always comes back over to us and says excitedly "I wanna be happy, I nice girl now". I have learned to just give her a minute or two and walk away. She always come back wanting to "be a happy girl".

So thats just a little tiny bit about our Kennedy. She is our life for sure.
Its going to take a me a while to catch up to life today on this blog. So next time maybe a little more about Kennedy and some other life stuff...

25 weeks and more

Well on the pregnancy front... I turned 25 weeks last week. So technically I should probably be posting a 26 week update but I don't have a picture for this week yet. So anyway heres our baby girls progress...

How far along: 25 weeks and a few days
Baby girl is the size of cauliflower or the size of a head of lettuce
Average size: 13.6 to 14.8 inches and weighs about 1.5 to 2.5 pounds
I feel like our baby girl is growing so much. She kicks all the time, which I absolutely love, and I feel like I get bigger by the hour.

I have still been sleeping very well other than waking up to go pee. Brandon got me one of those long snoozer pillows. Oh m gee... it is amazing. I have never been one to sleep with a pillow between my legs or under my back, anything like that. But this pillow will never leave my side now. My body, and big ole belly, fit around it perfectly. I highly suggest one ( :

Cravings: hmm well nothing really right now. I eat more than usual and I know I don't drink enough water but it seems like my "must have it right now" kind of cravings have went away for the most part. I have got to start drinking more water though!

Movement: All the time! It's still my absolute favorite thing so far. I love feeling her move. I know Brandon is probably getting tired of me getting so excited about it. Every time she starts (which is pretty often anymore) I'll get excited and shout... feel, feel, feel.. she's kicking. I get kind of ridiculously giddy. lol!

Symptoms: I have felt more recently. I still feel very good but I am definitely feeling pregnant.
I 've had some serious lower back pain but usually only on days I am super busy or on my feet moving a ton all day long. By the end of those days though, I can barely move. I have also had a little pain in my sides, kinda just like an ache. I have heard its called round ligament pain from your ligaments stretching and that its completely normal. For a couple weeks, I had a little heartburn but changed some things I was eating and that has seemed to help a lot lately. I do feel pressure in my lower abdomen at times but nothing unbareable really.
However, I am feeling very big. My belly is so firm and its so strange to me to have this big ole belly all the time. haha! Now, don't get my wrong I would do it over and over again for our baby!!

I am so incredibly excited to meet her. I am literally counting down days until she is here.

We have started transforming one of our guest rooms into the nursery. We painted over the weekend. I owe and big thank you to my Mom and little sis Piper for coming over to help paint. I'm not sure I would have had the energy to do it last weekend but they kept me going and really did most the work themselves. Brandon also has been so awesome. He got the room completely ready for us paint and is working on putting up the molding half way up the wall, like chair rail. We were going to do wainscoating and even bought some to test it out but I decided against it. It might have just been me but I kind of felt like it made the room a little closed in. So we decided to stick with just molding.
The room was painted a very neutral beige color but I wanted something else. So we tested about a million colors and finally decided on one called Simply Subtle Pink.
I am not a bubble pink kind of girl, I like vintage like pink. Pink that you can barely tell is pink but girly enough to have for our baby girl.
{painting party}

More to come on the nursery... bedding, furniture, lighting, curtains... and all things girly ( :

This week Brandon and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary. We went to dinner at the Melting Pot. It was delicious and the perfect quiet atmosphere to have dinner, just the two of us. I had such a great time with him. Theres never a dull moment!
Earlier in the day I received these beautiful huge flowers.

I would love to post all about our wedding, I don't think I have ever posted about our wedding on this blog. But since this is becoming such a long post already I will save the wedding re-cap for later. Until then, I will say that it was one of the best days of my life and will always be. I married the most amazing person and Thank God everyday for sending him my direction. Our wedding was beautiful, so much fun, crazy, happy, loud, sweet, and everything I dreamed of.

Happy Anniversary to the man of my dreams, Brandon.
I love you.

22 weeks and busy busy

Last week I hit 22 weeks of pregnancy! This post is a little late but starting Thursday of last week we have went non stop with celebrations and family stuff.

How far along: 22 weeks as of last week. Today: 22 weeks and 4 days
Baby is the size of a papaya
Average size: 10.5 to 11.8 inches and 12.7 to 20.8 oz.
Baby girl is also getting into a sleeping cycle... about 12 to 14 hours a day.

I have been sleeping very good lately so no complaints there. I still have to get up and go to the bathroom which is unlike me but I go right back to sleep. I am a very good sleeper... thats one thing I will most definitely miss when baby girl is waking me up every few hours. eekk.

Cravings: Well I haven't really craved much lately. I just feel like I've ate more than usual and I'm hungry more it seems like. I am sure it's all in my head but I feel like I could eat several times a day but I try to resist just so I don't put on a ton of extra weight. I did have some chocolate covered strawberries the other day that tasted so amazing ( :

Movement: Ohhhh goodness.. has baby girl been moving or what?! She started moving around 20 weeks and hasn't stopped. It's my favorite part of pregnancy so far. I was laying in bed a couple weeks ago around 11pm watching tv with brandon when I kept feeling something. Clueless me.. I thought I could feel my heartbeat. Then I felt it lower and lower so I had Brandon put his hand on my tummy and he felt it right off. He was so excited! I had a hard time going to sleep that night because I kept trying to get her to move some more. Ever since then I have felt something everyday, some days a lot of movement and some very little. Last week, Brandon and I laid out by the pool two evenings in a row. Listening to music desperately trying to get some sun. Baby girl starting moving and moving so we are thinking she either loves her Daddys taste in music or loves the sun. She's our water baby ( :
I am very excited to meet baby girl. I find myself wishing summer would come and go but I must make myself not do that and enjoy each new day because I know it will be here before I know it.

There hasn't been anything else really happening. We are starting to get ideas for the nursery and put those together. I've talked to my friends and sister about my shower so we're getting a date for that too. However, I think we'll get way more serious about getting stuff done after our vacation to the beach in a little over a month. So until then its just little stuff here and there.

This past weekend was fun but busy!! My aunt from Florida came in town on thursday morning to see my sisters high school graduation and for my other sisters birthday on friday.
Mollie graduated with around 1100 other students. It was a beautiful graduation cermony but very long. After graduation Thursday night we went back to my parents house and had a little reception for Mol. Dinner, cake, and presents. It was a fun night ( :

Friday the 18th was my little Pipers birthday. She turned 12 years old. That same day during school she ran for 6th and 7th grade class representative for next year. All week long she had to hang posters for her campaign, hand out flyers, and on friday she had to speak in front of her whole class. After her speech Friday morning the school voted and she found in the last hour of the day that...
SHE WON!!! Piper is now going to represent the 6th and 7th grade next year!
That evening we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for Pipers birthday dinner. The girl loves her wings!
After dinner, we went back to my parents and had cupcakes and presents. We also decorated the house during the day and her bedroom.

walking into her bedroom

On Saturday we took my aunt from florida to the farmers market on Cherry Street then went to Tulsa Mayfest with my family. I bought a cute homemade headband for baby girl and ate some yummy festival food.  Piper and my aunt got henna tattooes. We spent most of the day there looking at all the neat art and handmade items.
After we left, Brandon and I went home to take showers and change then headed to a friends birthday party at Los Cabos. After that we headed back to my parents for a cook out and an outdoor movie, which was really cool!!

On Sunday we said bye to my aunt and took it easy. Cleaned the house, went and saw "What to expect when expecting", and caught up on things at home.

It was a great weekend overall. Next weekend is Memorial Weekend which means pool time and cook outs. Love summer so far.

Life lately

The past few weekends have been BUSY! And its not slowing down anytime soon. So I thought I would get some pictures off my phone (yes, the iphone pics are about as good as it gets these days, I forget my camera everywhere I go).

A few weekends ago I went with Brandon to a golf tournament he was in a couple hours away. I love watching him play but it turned out cold that day and I was miserable riding in the golf cart. I was wrapped up in a blanket the whole time, I am sure the other golfers thought I was a weirdo.

Then a couple weekends ago (the weekend of our gender reveal party) my lil sis and I went to the Farmers Market downtown on Cherry Street. It was awesome!! I want to go back with Brandon sometime soon. I bought fresh flowers for the house, they were beautiful. I could have spent way more money than I should but I got there a little late and they were getting ready to shut down. Piper and I took Mollie, another sister, to get her hair and makeup done that morning for her prom, then we left and got starbucks, and headed for the farmers market. It was a great time with my favorite little person, Piper. When we headed back to get Mollie, she was almost done with hair and makeup and was looking gorgeous! That afternoon we went back to my house and got things ready for the gender party which was the next day, watered my plants (and took some pictures of some of my favorites). Later that evening, we went back to my parents house and took pictures with Mollie before she left for prom and then the family and I went to eat dinner. My parents took us to this little asian place, it was so yummy!! Not the icky buffett kind, all fresh and natural delicious food. It was such a nice evening.

Last weekend was busy too. I hosted a baby shower than turned out so adorable! It was childrens book themed and all the food matched childrens books. I will definitely post pictures from the shower soon ( :  We also had softball tournaments all weekend for my lil sister. She is really good at softball, well she's pretty athletic all around so its actually very fun watching her play all day. Plus I got a little sun which I can't complain about since I am pretty pale for me this time of the year (since I can't tan).

On the baby front... I'll be 21 weeks this Thursday!! I can not believe I am half way there. I have nothing done though. haha! Well one of the guest rooms is pretty cleared out other than a bed we need to put in storage. I gotta get into gear... there is so much to do.
I go back to the doctor in two weeks and can not wait to see our little girl.

This weekend is Mothers Day and its so crazy to think this will be the last Mothers Day ever that I techically don't have kids yet... even though baby girl is almost here ( :

More posts soon about the baby shower and I'll be sure to post some pregnancy progress too ( :

Baby Ullrich is a....

We went to the doctor last week and the doctor was pretty sure that Baby Ullrich is a ....

                                           Girl!!!!

I went to the doctor at 14 weeks and she couldn't tell exactly what baby was so we decided to wait to have a gender party until she was more sure. Well last week I was 18 weeks, that meant time for our next doctors appointment. I laid there hoping she would see the the gender, praying we would hear the strong heartbeat, and loving every minute of seeing our little miracle.

The doctor told us to close our eyes, as she knew we didn't want to find out right there. Even though she did have a difficult time telling the gender she finally said, "okay I am almost positive now". Baby just does not want to give us a clear view, haha! This time she had her feet crossed right where the doctor needed to see but after poking my stomach a few times, trying to get baby to move around the doctor was pretty sure she was able to see. She wrote it down on a piece of paper and sealed it in an envelope.

Getting in the car with that envelope was the hardest thing ever! We wanted to open it but then we didn't want to also.We went straight to the baker and dropped off the envelope. We told them we didn't want to know at that time, but to make a cake with either pink or blue filling inside.

We sent out invites right away and starting getting ready to have the party that very Sunday.
We invited only family since that alone was around 25-30 people. We had lots of snacks (things I have been craving), lunch, and then cake (THE BIG REVEAL).

We had a few little games and decorations around our house. I didn't have a lot of time to plan but I think with the 4 days we had it came together very well.

Sunday came...the family arrived, we talked, snacked, and when lunch was finally ready somebody suggested we cut the cake first. No one could wait any longer. Brandon and I stood around the table ready to cut the cake. People were everyone around us, cameras flashing right and left. It was so much fun! We cut into the cake and to our surprise saw pink filling! We really were shocked, for so long we just knew we were having a boy first. I was sooo happy to see PINK though.

Of course, I got teary eyed, hugged Brandon, took pictures, and then went on to eat lunch. I would highly suggest a gender reveal party. We loved sharing that with the people we love, our family.

Pictures from the reveal party....

Ultrasound photos from week 10 to week 18

Notice all the votes for boy, I think most of our family were convinced we were having a boy. HA!
Loved the sweet words our families wrote to Baby Girl!

 And finally... cutting the cake

 PINK. PINK. PINK
 YEP, I started crying

 My Mom and I

Every bit of planning was worth it! This party was one of my favorites so far. The family picture was taken a little late so not everyone was still there but atleast we got the picture. I was running around like a crazy person and forgot to take several pictures. I got alot of these from other people.

We have been busy busy busy and May doesn't look like its slowing down. Last weekend, we also went to the farmers market and got my sis ready for Prom. The weekend before that we were out of town for a golf tournament Brandon was in. I plan to post about all these events but just couldn't wait to post about our BABY GIRL!!

Have a great week, thanks for reading!
